We apologize for not keeping up with the blog as much lately, seems as though things have gotten a quite bit busy. We have had so many visitors that have kept us entertained and helped us in this process. Two of my dearest friends from VA flew in this week to meet Mary Cate and we had a great time. We cannot thank all of you enough for the support and love you have shown us in this process. Onto what you really care about though, Mary Cate is doing great. She is now off the CPAP and therefore has absolutely NO tubes---and she LOVES being tubeless. She does have a small nasal cannula that delivers oxygen and sits at the base of her nose but that is all. Since she has been on the Nasal Cannula she hasn’t had any big respiratory crashes which is really good it means that she is actually taking to the breathing thing pretty well. Speaking of crashes you know what is worse than crashing your, watching your husband crash your mothers car. Yes it is true Chris wrecked Mary Shea’s Toyota Camry on I-94 heading east bound in the middle lane. Everyone is just fine physically, someone rear-ended us but there was just a little damage done to all the cars involved and everybody was OK. The car is going to have to have some bodywork done to it but we were able to drive it away from the accident. So in the midst of all the fun of having your daughter in the NICU, my mother is without a car for a couple of days and Chris feels horrible for his first accident being in a car he doesn’t even own. But we have to remember Mary Cate is doing well so lets get back to talking about her.
Our next big step in Mary Cate’s life journey is digestion. She was not doing very well with this and had some tests done this week on her lower and upper GI. The doctors came back and said that she looked “anatomically correct” but that she seemed to be moving things through a bit slow (which seems to be the exact opposite problem Dad had). So we have spent the past day or two praying for poop---something I never thought I would be praying for. We also gave her a bath last night and we were so excited to use our new video camera and get lots of fun footage. Ironically though our daughter decided it would be fun to sleep and she proceed to do so through the entire bath, let me tell you the footage is thrilling. We will get some new pictures up soon but until then the word on the street is pray for poop.

Brigit and Chris,
I hadn't heard anything for a while (last we knew, you were still waiting for her), and we can't believe all that has happened since. Mary Cate is a true miracle, and you guys are great parents and wonderful examples.
We'll be keeping up with the blog and keeping the three of you in our prayers.
Joey and Cynthia Colson
