I think it is about time, for my own sake, I recap our trip to Disney. We had such a wonderful time celebrating the girls and going on a vacation just the 4 of us. I left with the girls early on Friday so I could get them in and settled at the hotel and we could swim for a little bit before naps. They LOVED it!! The pool was a ton of fun and wore them down enough for a good nap.
Chris showed up about 30 minutes before we had to leave for our princess dinner. We headed there---all dressed up and ready to meet Cinderella, MaryCate was beside herself. When we got there and they introduced Cinderella, MC stood up and started screaming (no joke) at the top of her lungs---"Cindarella, it's me, MaryCate" then she hopped down from our booth and we asked her where she was going, she quickly replied "Mom, I am just going to go give her a really quick huggie"---to which I had to calm her down and explain that Cinderella would eventually make it to our table. It was awesome, and the whole night was like living in a dream for both me and her. Just watching her light up so much almost brought me to tears.
After a delicious dinner and millions of pictures, we went over to downtown Disney and played at legoland, went in some of the shops and picked out a fun light up toy. Then we headed back to get a good night sleep and prepare for our day at the Magic Kingdom.
We arrived Sat morning early enough to watch all the characters come in on the train. They do a really fun show as they open up the park and the girls LOVED it. Maggie was ecstatic to see the MOUSE as she calls him and all the other characters. It was great to get in early and walk on some of the busier rides, we had a blast. They went on it's a small world, peter pan, and the tea cups about 6 times!! Just as it was starting to get a bit hot we headed over to the Contemporary resort where we had reservations for breakfast with Mickey and friends---the timing was great. We were in need of a break, got some great food and pictures again with all the characters!!
We then went back to the park and finished off some rides that we had gotten fast passes for. we went to the daily parade at 3 and then went back to the hotel for naps so that we could be there late to see the night parade. Chris and I showered up while the girls napped and we all ate a little dinner and then went back to the park. We did a few more things and then went to the night parade, which again they loved. Whenever the characters would wave or wink at them, they completely believed that they knew them and would be smiling ear to ear, it was awesome!!
Sunday we went back to the Magic Kingdom because we wanted to hit a few more of the rides/shows and stayed until the afternoon parade was over and then headed back to Bradenton. Overall the weekend was great. We could not have asked for better timing on most of what we did, the girls cooperated although tired by the end, we did not have any major melt downs. The weather was a bit warm, but it's FL,we can't expect much else. Cannot wait to go back. I think at some point we will get year long passes, probably when they are through taking naps, as the nap is still VERY necessary for both of my girls. I highly recommend Disney to anyone with little girls----definitely a highlight for all of us!!
